LAS VEGAS, January 7, 2008 – Satisfying both video and audio enthusiasts, Sharp’s new 2.1 Channel 1-Bit™ AQUOS® audio home theater rack system delivers high-fidelity sound while providing housing for a large screen AQUOS TV (up to 52-inches in size). The new AN-ACS1U rack system joins the Sharp suite of AQUOS-brand products, including the extensive line of LCD TVs and, most recently, Blu-ray players. With a high-gloss piano-black finish to match the style of AQUOS TVs and room-filling sound from a built-in 1-Bit amplifier, the new AN-ACS1U packs a powerful punch (150W power) for superior sound and offers limitless design and décor options that complement any room of the home. The rack system also incorporates technology from Audistry™ by Dolby® for an enhanced personal listening experience. The home theater system is easy to assemble, and there are no rear-channel speaker wires to hide, which simplifies cable management and minimizes clutter. For seamless connection between the parts, the rack system provides 2 HDMI-CEC® (consumer electronics control) inputs. Sharp’s built-in AQUOS LINK™ feature allows users to seamlessly control HDMI-connected products via an AQUOS screen using a single remote control. Consumers can even add a Sharp Blu-ray player to complete the home entertainment suite and connect the products all through AQUOS LINK. The AN-ACS1U rack system incorporates a sophisticated speaker system that provides a wide listening area for a fuller sound throughout the home. A newly designed wide-angle, full range speaker and a soft dome tweeter, placed in the front of the rack system on both sides, expands the audio sweet spot so that consumers can enjoy a wide listening experience that matches that of the wide viewing angle video experience. The new home theater rack system helps consumers transform their living room into a surround-sound theater without stringing speaker wire throughout the room. Two front-placed surround speakers simulate the sound and dynamics of a traditionally placed 5.1-speaker system, using the advanced Dolby Virtual Speaker technology to process the sound. The AN-ACS1U also plays back Dolby Digital, DTS® and Dolby Pro Logic® II content for a true theater experience. The AN-ACS1U incorporates a technology by Audistry, a Dolby Laboratories company, offering consumers the ability to enhance their listening enjoyment with a rich, individual sound experience. Audistry by Dolby developed its unique new sound technology to deliver an excellent personal listening experience, which is designed for a wide range of audio products such as stereos, TVs, etc.
About 1-Bit Technology With Sharp’s 1-Bit audio technology, the AN-ACS1U offers exceptional sound quality. 1-Bit technology produces flawless, high-resolution sound, enabling the AN-ACS1U to sample audio signals at an ultra-high speed rate of 11.2 MHz or 256 times faster than a CD. The faster sampling rate contributes to accurate reproduction of fast, percussive sounds and complex multi-instrumental timbres.
