28 novembre 2013

Communiqué de presse

At its recent AGM, held in London on Thursday 28th November, CEDIA (the Custom Electronic Design and Installation Association) revealed its new Board of Directors.

A total of six spaces were available on the CEDIA Board this year, with four positions to be filled by HTP (Home Technology Professional) members and two spots allocated to Trade Supplier members. Joining the CEDIA Board of Directors are HTP members Alister Smith from DLUK, Will Brocklebank from Face to Face Digital, Omar Hikal from Archimedia and Laura Neuwirth Lazzerini from Studio LGL. Meanwhile, Tom Butler of Artcoustic and Hamish Neale from Leaf have been elected to take up the Trade Supplier positions.

Joining Kris Hogg (Konnectiv), Krystian Zajac (It’s Done Technology), Elliott Hicks (Complete Home Control) and Gary Lewis (Cornflake) on the CEDIA Board, the newly elected members will serve as volunteers for a two year period, from January 2014 until December 2015. Their role will include providing vital strategic direction for the residential custom installation industry throughout Region 1 (UK, Europe, Russia, Middle East, India, Pakistan and Africa.)

“Strong leadership is critical to the success of any organisation,” says Wendy Griffiths, CEDIA’s Executive Director in Region 1. “CEDIA’s Board of Directors plays a vital role in shaping the direction of the industry, regulating the Association’s activities and representing the home technology profession across the Region. On behalf of CEDIA, I would like to thank the outgoing board members, Rufus Greenway (Sound Environment), Michael Sherman (Henri Intégrateur Domotique), Matt Dodd (Thinking Bricks) and Jason Aldous (Aldous Systems) for their hard work and dedication.”

Alister Smith is Managing Director of DLUK, a London-based integrator, specialising in residential AV. Having been in the industry since 1997, Alister brings with him a wealth of knowledge and is keen to play an active role on the board.

Will Brocklebank, Director and Head of Technology at Face to Face Digital designs and installs home technology systems including home cinemas, lighting & heating control, telephony, IT support and security in residential properties in the UK. Will understands what is required to deliver a high quality AV installation and will be able to impart this information to CEDIA members.

Omar Hikal the Co-Founder and CEO of Archimedia, an installation company that engineers, designs and installs technology into homes palaces, residences, yachts and hotels. Being based in the Middle East, Omar will be able to provide CEDIA with insight into a market which is growing rapidly.

Tom Butler is Business Development Manager for Artcoustic Loudspeakers, manufacturers of innovative and world class loudspeakers in the UK since 1998. Tom’s current role puts him in good stead to provide advice on how to develop certain aspects of CEDIA further.

Meanwhile, Hamish Neale from Leaf has been re-elected after stepping down from his role earlier this year when he left Control4. Laura Neuwirth Lazzerini from Studio LGL has also been vote in again, having played a key role in developing the Italian market over the last year.

The results were announced at the CEDIA AGM, which took place at the London Transport Museum.
