MITSUBISHI DIGITAL ELECTRONICS AMERICA WINS GOLD IN PACIFIC MEDIA ASSOCIATES' DEALER SURVEY

Communiqué de presse

Mitsubishi Digital Electronics America’s Presentation Products Division, known for award-winning, high-quality high-definition presentation and display products, announced winning the highest-level Gold Award five times out of the last seven years in Pacific Media Associates (PMA) 13th Annual Dealer Survey. PMA’s analysts are global market information experts on large-screen displays and its survey is the authoritative source of independent, unbiased ratings of large-screen displays manufacturers by dealers throughout North America.

“Winning the Gold Award again this year continues to confirm our dedication to our channel partners with excellent products, marketing and sales support,” said James Chan, director of product marketing, Mitsubishi Digital Electronics America. “We’d like to thank our loyal customers and dealers for voting for us and giving us the highest honors in serving them during these trying times.”

Mitsubishi’s products garnered a first-place ranking in the “Products” category, with a second place finish in “Marketing Support” and “After-Sale Support,” and winning first place in more than half of each sub-category.

The survey ranks 25 aspects of marketing support, products and after-sale support according to their importance to dealers, many of whom are among the largest dealers in North America. Dealers then rated their key suppliers on each of these aspects. Ratings were based on a scale of 1 (very poor) to 5 (very good). Manufacturers with high scores on the more important weighted aspects posted higher overall composite scores than those who scored well on less-important aspects.

Within the “Products” category Mitsubishi won in almost all of the sub-categories, including “Availability”, “On-Time Delivery”," “Ease of Use,” “Quality/Reliability,” “Good Price/Performance,” “Total Profit Contribution to Dealer,” and “Demo Equipment Program,” with a second place finish in “Leading-edge Features/Functions.” Within the “Marketing Support” category Mitsubishi took first place in “Quality of Lead Generation,” and “Co-op Ad Programs, Spiffs and Rebates,” and second place in “Ease of Doing Business,” “Quantity of Lead Generation,” and “Bid Assistance.” In the “After-Sale Support” category, Mitsubishi received top honors in “Knowledgeable Support Persons,” “Responsive Support Persons,” “Return/Repair Programs,” and “End-User Support,” achieving a second place finish for “Warranty Program(s).”

“The market for front projectors was starting to go through wrenching changes during the second half of 2008 when this survey was taking place. But those companies with well-established and `rich’ marketing programs continued to be well-thought-of by their dealer networks, including Mitsubishi,” said Michael Abramson, who directs Pacific Media’s research on front projectors and was project manager for the Dealer Survey. “Many of the aspects dealers considered most important in the past continued to be significant in 2008, and will probably remain important going forward.”

“Each year, Pacific Media Associates conducts the most extensive survey of North American projector dealers in the industry,” added William L. Coggshall, PMA president. “For many years, Mitsubishi frequently has ranked at or near the top for key elements including sales, marketing and support programs.”
