25 février 2010

Samsung hopes to be the first to deliver 3D TV for the home in just a few weeks’ time. The Korean company plans to launch its LED 8 and LED 7 series TVs, along with the BD-C6900 3D-capable Blu-ray player in March. Further models like the LED 9 and plasma 7 series, as well as the HT-C6930W surround sound system are lined up for late spring release.

The announcement was made at Samsung’s European Regional Forum in Vienna along with news that the company has joined forces with DreamWorks Animation and Technicolor to help meet the presumed demand for 3D content, including a promotion based around the 3D Blu-ray version of animated hit Monsters vs Aliens.

Andy Griffiths, VP of Consumer Electronics for Samsung UK said: “Samsung continues to lead the industry by being the first to market to deliver full HD 3D LED TV – with the widest range of options of 3D home entertainment ever with a full line up of TVs, Blu-ray players and home theatre systems – and we are lining up the best 3D content for our TVs to fuel adoption.”
